  • There are times in life when a box-stock A4 just doesn’t cut it. This is when you’d want a S4 (or preferably an R8, like you wanted in that daydream) – the A4’s hotter, sportier cousin. Audi is certainly bringing it to our shores and its coming sooner than you’d expect.
  • The 3.0-litre 328 bhp V6 TFSI is the same motor from the bigger A6/7 and handling is helped in no small amounts by Audi’s famous all-wheel drive ‘Quattro’ system. There’s sporty Independent trapezoidal-link suspension, clever electronics, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 60:40 split
  • This S model sits between the standard A4 and the hooligan RS4, so, it should be fun to drive yet comfortable and economical, relatively speaking, of course. For all its performance – 0-100 kph in just 5.1 seconds – it does promise 10.3 kpl in a combined cycle.
  • The good part here is that you get the performance and driving pleasure in a relatively compact sedan without compromising on comfort and luxury. It’s still well-appointed, impeccably finished, built to last and well-loaded. MMI, iPod sync, Bang & Olufsen audio system, leather seats...all that
  • It does look good, doesn’t it? Those 19-inch alloys, crisp headlights, sinister-looking LED running lights and the sharp, well-defined, athletic design cues make it look properly awesome. Of course, a few diffusers, a spoiler and some matte black bits would make it more boy-racer-like, if you'd want
  • We’d expect the S4 to be priced close to the Rs 50 lakh mark, give or take a few lakhs. For that money, you’d get a nice family sedan that you can comfortably drive to the hill station with your family and luggage on one weekend and have an absolute blast the next weekend in the twisties
