The Fiesta competes in a segment where the latest technology is just starting to trickle down, but instead of taking that trickle-down approach, Ford is going for an all-out assault.
While the other vehicles in its class are available with automatic transmissions, the Fiesta comes with a segment-first DSG transmission. Not only does this give it an advantage on the spec sheets, the real world benefits include better performance and a higher fuel efficiency figure because of the lack of a power-sapping torque converter.
Along with a new transmission, the Fiesta also comes with cruise control, electronic stability programme and hill-launch assist programs to ensure better safety and driveability.
This transmission will only be available on the 1.5-litre petrol engine in the Style and Titanium + trim levels.
