This is a Japanese fight on Indian tarmac. A Ninja, a CBR and an R – you like the sound of that, don’t you? However, these three motorcycles represent the accessible (read cheapest) end of their respective nomenclature spectrum. Three extremely enticing real-world motorcycles in the real world. A little GSX would’ve made things perfect, no? Anyway, let’s throw the small ’un to the wolves first, shall we?

Ninja is way ahead of cbr. I was wanting to pick ninja for over an year, but waited for the cbr launch. Drove a friends cbr to get an idea but still picked the ninja last month. N boy..WHAT A RIDE. it is extremely suparb machine. Even in the run in period i could feel that the engine is waiting to roar. the moment it crosses 7k rpm it becomes a devil and humbles down everybody else on the road. Unmatched power. N what a looker. park it on the roadside and just checkout the poeple admiring this beauty.

Bringing in a Classic 500 into the fray betrays loyalties and bias- not expected of a responsible magazine/reviewer. Such childish loyalties should be disbanded at such an level because the 500 comes nowhere close to the handling and dynamics and modernity of the Ninja, Cbr and R15- the R15 is lacking yes, but I would say it could be still relevant, not the 500. The Ninja will teach everyone how to corner, the R15 will make them better while the CBR will try to bring a little bit of fun in everyday life. The RE is a different breed and should have been (engineering, looks etc) where the Triumph Bonnevilles and Ducati GTs and Indian Chiefs are after all these years. @BSM, please ask your children to grow up. Dislike.

It never occurred to me to think of either the R15 or the Classic 500 while trying to decide between the Ninja and CBR. Food for thought. Thanks mate!

"Any decrease of speed on the Honda, and you’d better be prepared to drop gears faster than the US drops bombs on the Middle East. " What a line!

Comparing Ninja with CBR250R is just like comparing R15 with FZS, that right both these bikes have different attributes and purpose. Ninja and R15 are proper track bikes, where as FZS and CBR250R are for pleasure. And this puts some question like take the case of R15 & FZS, they have different silencer, they have different kind of rear wheel, both have different power delivery out from same engine capacity, so does Ninja n CBR. Does silencer has anything to do with power output?

@ The Guru: He's written that the R15 has no chance against the two in a straight line. It's only in the corners that it catches the two out. Besides, if you go down to the Chennai track and watch the National Racing Championship, you'll find that he is right. The CBR250s are nowhere close to the timings the R15s are coming up with.

Agree with Hari. I have not come accross many happy CBR owners. Your views on that Karthik?

hey kartik, Did you dream last night that R15 can touch the CBR250R on a track...??? Or you are too newbie to handle the Honda bad boy ??? Read an Autocar...the CBR250 whipped clean the R15 on Track...and with 2.3 kgm of torque it will make a pakora of the baby 150... I agree that Ninja is a better performer but R15 !!! phulllezzz

CBR's ownership reviews is no where near Ninja's ones. So I feel that the Ninja still rules!!
