Mahindra's only sedan, the Verito has undergone yet another refresh job, in an effort to tackle the issues that fraught the original Logan. Mahindra had launched a minor facelift last year, but this one is the most thorough job by far, solving a lot of issues with regards to ergonomics and placement of controls.

The refreshed Verito now starts at Rs 5.27 lakh, ex-showroom, New Delhi. The range of prices is as follows:

> Mahindra Verito G2 Petrol: Rs 5.27 lakh

> Mahindra Verito G4 Petrol: Rs 5.49 lakh

> Mahindra Verito D2 Diesel: Rs 6.26 lakh

> Mahindra Verito D4 Diesel: Rs 6.48 lakh

> Mahindra Verito D6 Diesel: Rs 7.14 lakh

Available with a 1.4-litre, 76 bhp petrol and a 1.5-litre, diesel engine producing 65 bhp, the Verito's powertrains and power outputs remain unchanged. What has changed is the front-grille that is keeping in line with the Mahindra family look, a revised front bumper, new side cladding, a newly designed boot lid with the number plate placed on it instead of the bumper and new design tail lamps and rear bumper.

The biggest changes are on the inside. The dashboard has undergone a major revision with new, lighter colours and revised controls. It now gets new rotary knobs for the climate control, new buttons for internal re-circulation and the de-mister and a Xylo-borrowed music system. The power window switches too have revised placement and are now on the door pads rather than the central tunnel, a crib that most customers had.

Mahindra's designers have made an overall attempt to reduce mass and infuse freshness in the design with the facelift, a car that has been originally designed as a Renault-Dacia product who continue to provide the motors to Mahindra. The facelift comes at a time when the C segment has gone through a lot of change and is expected to give a major boost to sales.
