Toyota Etios Liva review: Toyota thinks small
It is out very soon and we’ve driven it. Here’s our Etios Liva review

1. Though the Etios is not exactly a beauty queen, the Etios Liva somehow looks better than its sedan sibling - especially in that shade of blue it’s been showcased with right from the Auto Expo reveal. When it will be launched on June 27, the Etios Liva could very well be among the cheapest Toyotas anywhere in the world, if not the cheapest. But in V and VX trim specifically, with all the aerodynamic paraphernalia like chin spoiler, skirts, hatch spoiler, etc, it certainly doesn’t look cheap.

2. Viewed front-on and till the B-pillar, there is nothing much to differentiate between the Etios and the Liva. The hatch is quite barren and is flanked by bulbous tail-lamps. The greenhouse is not a dynamic shape, like in the Suzuki Swift for instance – instead, it is designed to give a feeling of space inside.

The worest car in hatch back . No power, poor quality plastic, pretty boring car. I do not uderstand what they mean by Q Quality ?

By calling this car "made for India" is an insult to Indian VFM mindset

Toyota etios liva India is the most awaited small car from Toyota. It has hit the Indian roads and the price ic between 3.99 lakhs to 5.99 lakhs. This car from Toyota is expected to give tough competition to Suzuki Ritz, Maruti Suzuki swift, Ford figo and Nissa Micra. Toyota etios liva India

Why do cheaper cars have to be ugly. Both etios and liva seem devoid of any styling, they seem to be from a different age. Nevertheless, it emphasizes the utility and vfm concept. Diesel option will cetainly shake the market.

No mention of the Punto as a competitor... Is that deliberate? It much better car than the yucky i20 which is included in the competition. BSM has started to suck lately. Lets see if you publish this.

when can we expect the diesel version
Posted by Vishu at 24th June,2011
Indan market is now skewed towrds Diesel market. with the prohibiltively sexpnsive Petrol cost, Diesel hatch's are order of the Day. With Diesel Beat coming all the way with decent power in 3 pots @ under 5 lakhs, with all the goodies, expect a price war in Diesel hatches too.Toyota if you are not listenening to Indian buyers mentality, then you will become one more Honda.

Exceptionally badly designed car which just manages to get a little brownie points over the Logan. Just putting in chrome inserts dodn't make a good looking car and whats with the weird looking dash? They should learn a few tricks in designing from the italians.

'Ticking all the boxes' (without actually excelling in any one department) is a euphemism for boring, as you all call Hyundai cars (barring perhaps the new Verna and i-10 to some extent), But then it must be hard to call a spade a spade if the spade comes with the 'T' tag - almost as hallowed as the big 'H'!!

Curious...the Etios sedan has pretty boring, underwhelming handling and an overly light steering. Yet the Liva seems to have "pretty good handling" and good steering as per your review. How is it that there is such a difference between the two versions of the car. It seems unlikely that Toyota would have engineered the hatchback for an enthusiast and the sedan for the average driver.

hope toyota launches the 1.4 diesel etios and liva by this year end and price them right.with rising petrol prices, the indian market is becoming a diesel market.almost 'all entry segment Petrol cars' are bought by first time buyers with the excitement of buying their first car and they soon regret for buying a petrol car seeing the petrol price.

Looking good and will be a sure success. Not sure if SWIFT will have any impact, but surely LIVA will kill VISTA. Already MANZA is feeling the heat from ETIOS
